Hi;

My name is Jean Karvelis and my buddy David Garman and I after 30 years of friendship have discovered that we are both film geeks. how
weird is that!

my new to me 1968 Nikomat FTn. this is the camera that started the whole mess recently. Now dont get me wrong I've been doing photography for many decades. I started beck in the 70s with a Contax II made in 1936. I was at the time being mentored by William R. Current. aftere Current my next mentor was C. Lewis Baltz. The funny bit here is in the mid 1980s my dad got me a brand new Minolta X370 and i loved that camera, and shot more ektachrome than you can imagine with it! At this point the years roll on and i discover NIKON. Picked up a Nikon F and soon an F2, and thoroughly loved them. Anyway in the early 2000s i put down my film cameras and got a cheap digital and was doing picture taking, not photography. i picked up my first DSLR in 2015 and the love of real photography came rushing back. and for the next 10 years this was enough. Then one day cruising evilbay i see this FTn and threw the guy a super lowball offer and got the camera. Its in NIB condition, even the light meter works! At this point I ordered up some B&W film and as they say "the race was on". It was at this point i mention to my friend David about my new camera and the conversation spins totally out of control about cameras and film. Next thing I know David is buying FTn's and we are planning our first out back photography adventure here in Nevada to shoot ghost towns. STAY TUNED!
